BEING GRATEFUL!
Most of us have a common instinct to ask ourselves – what on earth are we doing here? Or what can I do to get out of my hopeless situation? Or what more can I do to make myself, my life, my work or business better? Well, this is definitely a good thought. But have we ever thought of appreciating life as it is or the things around us as they are? Or being grateful for what we are today and what we have today?
I am sure most of us at some point or the other must have expressed annoyance or frustration about our situation. We often complain about things when it does not turn out the way we want it to be. An in such situation, we many a times think that others are having far better life than us, often forgetting about people who are deprived of so many things in life. For instance, let’s take a handicapped person. It is so hard to imagine of such life where you are to depend on someone even for the basic movements, forget being capable of working and earning a living or having fun as we do. I wonder what would "hopeless" mean to such a person? And there is not one, but millions of such people in our world.
I have always reflected on this aspect and tried being grateful for whatever I am and whatever I have today. Being sound mentally as well as physically and having almost all the pleasures of life today is worth being grateful about.
I thought of sharing this with you folks because while I was researching today, I came across a blog of one of the players in the software industry. The blog post was by the co-founder of the organization and I was inspired by the high ideals instilled in this man and also wanted to appreciate him. In the post he expresses his feelings of gratefulness toward his work, family, employees, friends and clients and insists to be thankful for being lucky in so many aspects of our lives that have made us what we are.
These are in fact so important for self-fulfillment. It’s very important to take out a few minutes from your busy schedule and appreciate your situation no matter how bad it may be as long as it has made your life worthwhile.
And whenever in a hopeless situation, think of the person who never had or never will have the opportunity to ever be even in a situation that he/she can call hopeless.

We sure have forgotten to thank God for our basic amenities, health, finances, career opportunities, knowledge and many more things that He has given us. I agree that taking time out for thanksgiving is important whether it be for humans or wether it be for God.

Some people live to work, which is a ridiculous idea. We should enjoy life every single day. Having said that, I have fun because that is the kind of a person I am. I don't think I would want to see lesser privileged people and derive solace out of it. If I am in a marsh, I would try to get out of it rather than looking at others who are neck-deep inside and think, "at least I am better off than they are".

We always crib about the misfortunes that occured in our lives. But how many of us really sit and rejoice the good things that have made our lives worth living.
We want everything good or rather the best to be happening to us and this makes us unhappy. Let us be bold and take life as it comes...rather flow with life's flow.

It’s always hard to be happy with what we have in life; everyone is looking for new avenues in life every time & anytime…..don’t we? But I remember one dialogue from metro movie...”kuch behtar pane ki talash mein aksar hum hamare paas jo hata hai uski kadr nai karte..”
