Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data as a corporate asset. Identify and understand the use of new, existing and legacy data assets, thus increasing efficiency and re-use of data.
  • Responsible for all company and customer data assets, especially those built for our data services projects.
  • Responsible for Data strategy (acquire, build, append, refresh, reuse, and monetize); data warehousing and database management; data governance, control and policy development. Focus on maintaining data quality and exploitation of data assets to create value for customers.
  • In this capacity, the analyst will oversee strategic data priorities for various projects and guide the data services, tech and others teams on what data to store, analyse, build and exploit for every project. This will also include identifying new and accurate data sources and build the most efficient mechanisms for data acquisition and discovery.
  • The analyst will also act as a thought leader defining a project’s data acquisition strategy and roadmap. It will require determining how best to leverage existing data assets and acquire any new data assets from multiple sources. An understanding of automation (for data capture and mapping) through technology, data processes and policies will be required.
  • The analyst will work closely with our tech teams in organizing and creating an environment that makes data and information accessible with appropriate channels of access controls – and build the right knowledge repositories. In this collaborative role, one would also work with key internal and external stakeholders as well as departmental leaders and executives, fostering a relationship of trust and playing an advisory role for all data needs.
  • The analyst should be a problem solver with a thorough analytical mindset and will have to build effective MIS systems for data optimization and reuse.
  • The position will also play a mentorship role to key personnel within the data department, assisting in the execution of their function, and encouraging constant growth and efficiency.

Key requirements

  • This will be a highly collaborative role. Hence, it is imperative that the candidate have exceptional communication skills; is able to understand customer requirements, communicate these with clarity, conviction and precision to respective managers.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in data heavy role or the demand generation space. Should have hands-on experience in executing data projects and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Good technology insight and awareness. The analyst should be able to proactively identify and leverage the right technology for data acquisition, data warehousing and data mining processes and projects. This includes familiarity of the front-to-back data lifecycle, prevalent big data tech infrastructure, and a wide array of relevant data quality tools, and database management platforms.
  • Understanding of self-service data preparation mechanisms, is a plus.
